Actos Bladder Cancer Lawsuits Mount in the Aftermath of Safety Warnings
Actos is the popular diabetes medication, one of the top-selling drugs throughout the world, with billions in annual sales. It has also now been linked to bladder cancer in a safety warning issued by the FDA and two European drug regulatory agencies. The FDA Actos Cancer Warning was actually two separate warning notices issued by the FDA less than 12 months apart. The first warned that using Actos for more than 2 years could increase the risk of bladder cancer. The second FDA warning, an update of the first Actos warning, changed the amount of time using the drug to increase the risk of bladder cancer to just one year. These bladder cancer warnings by the FDA and French and German counterparts provide answers to tens of thousands of Actos users diagnosed with bladder cancer of the last 10 years as well as an uncertain future for over a million other Actos users.
